NAJ demonstrate the value of hallmarking

11 October 2018

This week NAJ hosted a meeting organised by UK Government to demonstrate the value of hallmarking to governments from across the globe.

Simon Forrester (NAJ CEO) and Andrew Hinds (F Hinds) addressed the delegates about the business perspective, pointing out the value of hallmarking to the jewellery sector and the additional consumer confidence in our products.
Simon Forrester commented “the event is a perfect example of the UK projecting ‘soft power’ across the love, and we are very happy to have supported it. Delegates left with a stronger understanding of the benefit of UK products, and we made sure to explain how jewellery made in Britain is among the best in the world, in part due to the hallmarking process”
The event saw delegates from governments including Ghana, Slovenia, Germany, the World Bank and International Finance Committee. Alongside the visit to NAJ, guests visited Goldsmiths Hall to see hallmarking in action, and heard speakers from both the Goldsmiths Company and British Hallmarking Council. NAJ were also invited to attend a welcome reception at the Foreign Office.
