The National Association of Jewellers’ JET Certificate (formerly JET 1) has long been seen as the industry gold standard of jewellery courses for anyone taking their first steps onto the jewellery industry ladder. We are pleased to announce that JET Certificate has just been updated to ensure its relevance across the all of the jewellery industry. Many experts including some of the industry’s most prominent retailers, designers and manufacturers have been part of this extensive rewrite.
We have updated the modules to incorporate information that is applicable across the whole supply chain not just retail" stated Kate Madelin, NAJ Director of Education; "this course is now just as suitable for a Designer Maker or craftsman to an employee of a wholesale company or a large manufacturer."
A fact welcomed by Deputy Chairman Gary Wroe, MD Hockley Mint "As a trade association representing the whole industry it is fantastic that the renowned JET training programme is just as relevant now to the manufacturing and wholesaling sectors"
Designer Sarah Jordan a member of the NAJ Education Steering Group added "it is excellent that some key information to help individuals starting out in our industry has been packaged in relevant on-line modules to help with ease of learning. Start-ups, trainees or retail assistants can also apply for funding via our educational charitable trust to help with the costs."
Kate Madelin and her team will be at Jewellery & Watch 2017 on stand P20 Hall 17 to discuss the JET Education Programmes to show visitors. Additionally on Tuesday 7th February tutor Mark Houghton will present at NAJ Live at 10.45 and 15.00, giving an opportunity to hear more about the new JET Certificate; as well as how being passionate about your products, asking questions and attending trade fairs and training events can lead to a glittering future!
