Hundreds turn to pedal power for Beaverbrooks Charity Bike Ride

14 June 2017

Beaverbrooks team members saddled up for the annual Beaverbrooks Blackpool Bike Ride, which they hope has raised over £20,000 for Trinity Hospice.

Eighteen Beaverbrooks employees completed the bike ride on Sunday 4th June 2017, including the retailer’s chairman, Mark Adlestone, while a further six volunteered on the day.

Now in its 26th year, Beaverbrooks has been sponsoring the Bike Ride since 1991, which is organised by Blackpool’s Trinity Hospice and Palliative Care Services.

The event attracted almost 700 riders who cycled 15, 18, 30 or even 45 miles around the Fylde’s coastal and countryside routes, many stopping for ice creams along the way.

Susie Nicholas, Charity Manager at Beaverbrooks, said: “Work colleagues, family groups, serious cyclists and fun riders all participated in the Bike Ride and the sun was shining as cyclists crossed the finish line, where they were rewarded with a souvenir medal for their efforts.

“Special thanks to all the volunteers who were out in force helping with registrations and marshalling duties. It was a brilliant event which raised much-needed funds for Trinity Hospice.”
