Les Georgettes has been awarded for its impressive stand and visual merchandising skills by a panel of leading industry editors

International Jewellery London has drawn on the opinions of leading industry editors to present Les Georgettes with the ‘Visual Excellence’ Editors’ Choice Award for 2017.

The panel of industry magazine and digital editors praised Les Georgettes for its exceptional stand presentation, including the visual merchandising techniques and attention to detail shown through its display cases, imagery, wall displays and furniture. 

One editor commented: “This is chic, sophisticated boutique styling that stands out from a mile off.”

IJL event director, Sam Willoughby, noted: “Les Georgettes has arrived at IJL 2017 with a real flair for colour, patterns and prints. Claire Adler and I agreed that this fast-growing company treated the whole IJL audience to one of the best visual merchandising displays at IJL 2017. From looking at the feedback of our media editors, it is clear they agree with us! Congratulations to Les Georgettes on its fantastic award win.”

During the inaugural day of IJL 2017 (3 September), a panel of six editors were tasked with discovering the exhibiting designer with the most attention-grabbing collections; showcasing flair, creativity and commercial potential. Their insights were collated by the IJL Press Office and presided over by long-standing Editors’ Choice Judges, IJL event director, Sam Willoughby and luxury communications consultant, Claire Adler.

Other brands that have named as Editors’ Choice Award winners during this year’s show include Farrah Al-Dujaili of emerging brand Oddical, who was named ‘Designer to Watch’, and Nadine Aysoy, who won in the ‘Show Stopper’ category for her stand-out Mille et Une Feuilles 18k rose gold ring.

Earlier this year, IJL announced that its long-standing exhibitor awards, Editors’ Choice, had been given a makeover with a range of new categories designed to celebrate innovation, creativity and technical skill.

The first phase of this new iteration of Editors’ Choice was unveiled earlier this year, and now, the IJL Editors’ Choice Awards is in its second phase, giving experienced journalists and magazine editors from across the industry the chance to cast their all-important votes during the three days of IJL.

IJL event director, Sam Willoughby, added: “At IJL, we are proud to have forged strong relationships with specialist trade magazines, journalists, bloggers and social media influencers. By giving these editors the chance to share their views, Editors’ Choice truly lives up to its name.”

The winners of the first phase of Editors’ Choice in the three exclusive categories – Technical Trailblazer, Creative Originality and Commercial Mastermind – were The Rock Hound (Stand Q38)Isabella Liu (Stand R30) and Franco Florenzi (Stand F28) respectively.
