The National Association of Jewellers Centenary Trust was set up in 1994 (then operating as the NAG) for the Association’s centenary celebrations.
Whilst there were a number of excellent charities with jewellery industry connections in existence, a need was identified for an organisation that would specifically assist people in the retail sector of the jewellery industry.
One of the principle objectives as stated in the Trust Deed is that the Trustees should “undertake” to provide or procure the provision of scholarships, awards and assistance towards training and work experience opportunities, including participation in exchange programmes, whether in the UK or abroad, for persons who derive their main livelihood from the retail jewellery trade.
There are no formal qualifications required to apply for an award.
You do need to be currently employed within the jewellery industry or working within the Educational Sector on programmes directly relevant to employees within the jewellery industries.
The trustees will also consider other applicants from other associated trades.
