Throughout the Covid pandemic, the NAJ’s Better Business Support Service has been a vital and valuable reference point for many jewellers, with legal and HR advice lines getting most of the attention.

Scott Williams, head of Membership Services for NAJ said,

After the Better Business Support Service was launched in late 2019, a number of members have found the advice lines invaluable as the pandemic took hold and resulted in business owners and leaders having to make important business decisions.

The NAJ contributes a significant sum of funds to deliver this service for members. When we’ve compared the advice lines to what a member would have to pay themselves, the value is in the region of £750.

In addition to the unlimited advice line access, NAJ members can also explore more than 700 documents on the Better Business Support Service document vault, with template documents available to download and edit accordingly.

Also available to NAJ members through the Better Business Support Service is a free, one-to-one health check, which will provide an impartial view on circumstances under HR, tax, legal and health and safety which may affect the business.

How do I access this benefit?

NAJ Members should store the advice line number (0116 243 7627) and also request access to the portal by emailing membership@naj.co.uk. In both scenarios, members should quote their name and company, and have their member number ready. You can find this on the ‘Check a Member’ website page (naj.co.uk/check-amember).

What were the 10 most common queries into the Better Business advice line?

Here’s a report back from the service provider, Quest on what NAJ members have been enquiring about.
