Next year will mark the fourth consecutive year that a delegation of buyers, hosted by the HKTDC and Retail Jeweller, will visit the Hong Kong Diamond Gem & Pearl Show and the Hong Kong International Jewellery Show.

Places are open to representatives from brands and suppliers, who may be interested in sourcing from the shows, as well as retailers.

There are up to 40 places on offer in total although some of these have already been filled by those who expressed an early interest after this year’s event, so applicants are encouraged to register their interest as soon as possible.

The Retail Jeweller delegation will be required to travel from London Heathrow on February 25, 2019 returning to the UK on March 3, 2019 and those who are selected to attend will be provided with one return economy class flights and four night’s accommodation in Hong Kong, enabling them to visit both shows.

There is also an option to purchase an additional night’s stay in Hong Kong and fly back a day later, if you feel you would benefit from more time at the shows.

Those wishing to apply cannot have visited the show this year (2018) and must be willing to have their participation in the trip featured in an issue of Retail Jeweller.

Additionally, all applicants will be subject to a strict screening process by the HKTDC and their decision on eligibility is final.

Retail Jeweller editor Ruth Faulkner commented: “Our HKTDC Retail Jeweller hosted buyer programmes have become somewhat legendary and are always a success with all participants agreeing that both shows provide excellent buying opportunities from a fantastic range of suppliers.

“We are delighted that the HKTDC has asked for our help in organising a further, larger, delegation for 2019 and we are confident that this trip will be as all of the others.”

Dominic Wakefield director of Wakefields Jewellers in Horsham said of the previous trips he has been on: “I have never been to a show that was so relevant for my business needs, particularly in the non-branded jewellery sector.”

Those interested in applying for the trip are asked to do so via email to with Hong Kong Buyer Incentive Programme as the subject line before Friday November 30.

Participation is limited to one representative from each retailer, although there is a possibility to add other people from your business at an additional cost. Candidates will be subject to eligibility screening by the HKTDC and its decision on inclusion on the trip is final.
