Transformational re-edit for Spring Fair 2020 announced

30 Jan 2019

Spring Fair 2020 will see the first major re-edit of the UK’s largest source of gift and home decor in the UK in 8 years.

Following a year of planning by the organiser, the announcement comes ahead of this year’s Spring Fair run at Birmingham’s NEC, from 3-7 February.

The exhibition, now in its 69th year, will have a renewed look-and-feel, which will reinvigorate the way buyers source products and connect with exhibitors. Celebrating both the Gifts and Home & Living sectors will remain a fundamental element of the show.

Julie Driscoll, Spring & Autumn Fair’s new Managing Director, said: “This is a transformational moment for Spring Fair, and we are so excited to unveil the 2020 re-edit. Following our recent acquisition by ITE Group plc, we’ve invested heavily in both Spring and Autumn Fair, and this is just one indication of how that investment will deliver for both exhibitors and visitors.

“The re-edit, which redrafts the NEC’s show floor into two sourcing destinations – Gifts in the Piazza, and Home & Living in the Atrium – will make it much easier for buyers to source complementary products and in-turn, generate more new customers for exhibitors. The introduction of new product categories and sector names will create fresh inspiration for both exhibitors and visitors.“

Spring Fair will continue to provide world-class content programmes that help the visitors and exhibitors differentiate, compete and succeed. Technological innovations, such as the recently launched Product Match app, will also remain a key feature of Spring Fair’s efforts to maximise opportunities for product inspiration throughout the show’s halls.

Spring and Autumn Fair recently joined ITE Group plc as part of its acquisition of Ascential Events, and this re-edit forms part of the investment and renewed focus ITE set to bring to the well-established brands.

Here’s the full detail on what is changing:

The Piazza halls will house all gifting sectors from the smallest keepsakes to large Christmas décor

  • Fashion in Hall 1 will also host a high-end jewellery sub sector, Jewellery & Watch
  • Greetings & Gift in Hall 2 will be adjacent to the combined gifting categories of Gift in Halls 3 and 4, thus creating the largest gathering of gift inspiration in the UK
  • Beauty & Wellbeing in Hall 3 will sit in between Gift to create a real hub for cross-over buying of lifestyle products

The Atrium halls will host all Home & Living sectors including the brand new, Sourcing sector

  • The Summerhouse in Hall 20 will be located in between Living and Accents & Décor, for an easier shopping route for visitors around home and lifestyle products
  • Cook & Dine in Hall 8 is in a new prime position to catch the flow of visitors moving from the Gift hall into Home & Living
  • Everyday (formerly Volume) moves to Halls 9 and 10 and featured closer to the main bustle of the show

Spring Fair takes place at the NEC Birmingham, 3-7 February 2019. You can still register to attend for free here.
