A Royal Night Out with Forum Jewellers

23 Oct 2019

The story of how the largest diamond in the world was crafted into the Crown Jewels was beautifully told at a ‘Dine with Diamonds’ event staged by Forum Jewellers in Dorset.

Diamond expert, Helen Dimmick, talked to a fascinated audience of nearly 100 about how diamonds are created, the history of the Asscher family, and how Joseph Asscher famously cut the Cullinan diamond into the gems we recognise today set in the Sovereign’s Sceptre with Cross and Imperial Crown, amongst other pieces.

The evening was a fantastic celebration of the most precious gemstone, it was also the perfect opportunity to further explore the history and origin of diamonds and the evolution of faceting over the years, with special focus on the Crown Jewels and unlocking the secrets of the largest diamond ever found.  Furthermore, it was the perfect opportunity to announce the collaboration of Forum Jewellers with Royal Asscher, two highly esteemed family businesses working together with shared values in presented the world’s most beautifully cut diamonds.

Royal Asscher Vice President, Lita Asscher says: “Being able to introduce our new and gorgeous patented diamond suite: The Royal Asscher Cushion, Oval and Round next to our existing predecessor of the original Asscher Cut, the Royal Asscher cut at such a unique event, was very exciting. We have gotten to know Helen and her team at Forum and are so thrilled to be launching our beautiful diamonds in their store. They are true diamond connoisseurs, which we always love and admire.”

This second Dine with Diamonds event hosted by Forum Jewellers at their local golf club as Director Helen Molloy explains: “Last year’s event was so successful we invited Helen Dimmick back and were delighted she said yes! And the icing on the cake was our pride in announcing our partnership with Royal Asscher.” She continues: “Thanks to our fantastic generous suppliers, we were able to hold an auction and raffle with 35 prizes raising an astonishing £2,012 for our Charity of the Year, Forest Holme Hospice.”

Helen Dimmick was equally enthusiastic by the success of the evening: “I was thrilled and honoured to be invited back again to present at the prestigious ‘Dine with Diamonds’ evening hosted by Forum Jewellers, most especially after the wonderful warm welcome I received from all the guests last year!”

There was also an opportunity to view some stunning diamonds on display and chat to a Hatton Garden supplier to add sparkle and splendour to the event.
