The Company of Master Jewellers (CMJ) and the National Association of Jewellers (NAJ) have boosted cooperation, launching a joint task force aimed at increasing mutual sales and membership services.

As part of the enhanced collaboration, NAJ’s Jewellery, Education and Training (JET) qualifications will be promoted by CMJ, the UK’s largest jewellery buying group, to its members.

CMJ members can now benefit from a reduced fee for JET qualifications, including the popular Jewellers Certificate and Diploma, as well as the more specialist Business Development and Management Diplomas.

A new incoming JET essentials training programme is also eligible for CMJ discount, of which companies can apply to the Benevolent Society for full or part funding for their employees.

CMJ Consultant and interim business leader Helen Dimmick said,

“CMJ and NAJ both want the industry to sell more jewellery and watches,”

“We will promote our mutual sales and services by focusing our joint resources on providing industry solutions,” she added.

Helen Dimmick went on to say,

"The CMJ which aims to 'Lead, Engage, Enhance', and NAJ will actively promote each other’s businesses. CMJ will direct members to NAJ for courses, and will not develop their own qualifications.

“In return, we appreciate the NAJ will proactively champion the membership benefits of being part of CMJ,”

"I’m confident that we can work closely together to offer the best service to our membership communities.

NAJ Chief Executive Simon Forrester said,

“It’s an exciting time for both NAJ and CMJ. By identifying complementary products and services with a strong relationship in place, I’m confident that we can work closely together to offer the best service to our membership communities."

The enhanced partnership takes effect immediately with NAJ strengthening its presence at the CMJ Autumn event on the 4th and 5th of August at the Hilton Metropole in Birmingham, and growing its attendance at the CMJ’s regional meetings scheduled this year.

Helen Dimmick said,

“Our regional meetings have been a huge success. The NAJ’s attendance, input and contribution will be very welcome going forward,”
