Give Your Business the Edge This Christmas with the NAJ Awards

03 Oct 2019

The NAJ Awards are an ideal opportunity to celebrate a successful 2019 as they recognise excellence in the jewellery community. The Awards are open to all sectors of the industry, recognising the innovative, professional and truly inspirational companies, teams and people that make people keep buying jewellery and keep them coming back.

Simon Forrester, NAJ CEO, said,

“The Awards are massive for us and we hope for the membership also. The new categories on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Innovation, and Team of the Year allow members from all areas of the jewellery industry to shout about the good things they are doing which otherwise may not see the light of day.

The easiest award to enter is perhaps Physical Shop Front of the Year, all entrants have to do is tag us in their social media posts with images of their store front with a to-the-point explanation- bonus points for video entries!”

With the deadline for entries to the 2019 NAJ Awards looming ever closer, we caught up with the winner of Retailer of the Year 2018, Jamie Beech of Bond Jewellery & Diamonds to find out about his awards experience, the benefits for his company and why he entered.

Why did you enter the NAJ Awards 2018?

We entered the awards last year because we feel that our approach to jewellery and jewellery buying is so unique and different to the many competitors we have within the market, that we deserve to be recognised. Following nominations in the UK Jewellery Awards we realised that judging panels could see and appreciate the work we are doing both for clients and within the industry and we hoped whole-heartily to receive an award!

As a relatively new member of the NAJ, how did you feel about going up against industry giants such as Clogau who were shortlisted in your category?

We were so flattered to be nominated and as much as we knew that we had extremely stiff competition, whilst their heritage may run deeper, we felt our unique story would ultimately set us apart. At Bonds Jewellery & Diamonds we believe in what we do, and this is why we knew recognition would come, it was just a matter of when.

Our Awards recognise excellence in the jewellery industry, what do you think made you stand out from the crowd? Can you share what your entry included?

I think our entry stood out because our work stands out and we demonstrated how in our entry. We don’t run our business like a classic jewellery store, we innovate and use the latest technologies to fully immerse the customer in the experience. I believe it was our obsession with quality, service and ability to roll with the times that ultimately won us the award.

Do you have any advice for this year’s entrants or those who are unsure whether to enter?

Don’t second guess yourself. If you believe in your brand and are confident that you deliver for your customers, then you deserve the recognition that this will bring, just make sure you evidence why and how you do this.

How has the award helped your business?

It is something that we discuss with customers and suppliers, adding trust to the brand and giving us the confidence that our processes and ideas are well received. We will be entering again (of course)- to have an award on show in store for 2018 and 2019 would be a strong message.

What does the future hold for Bond Jewellery & Diamonds?

World domination!

Don’t miss out on the chance to enter the NAJ Awards, it only takes 10 minutes to enter and can give your business the edge over the competition, especially during the busy festive season.
